This handsome East African native has wound its way around the globe and is now as popular — and happy, it seems — in garden designs as it is pot bound on the kitchen windowsill.
There are more than 300 species of the aloe plant, but Aloe barbadensis (aka aloe vera) is the best known and is prized in the health and beauty worlds for its vulnerary substance.
The spiky juicy plant grows naturally in dry, tropical weather in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the southern and western parts of the United States

WHAT IS ALOE VERA, WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?

 Aloe vera  is a facetious plant species of the group Aloe. An evergreen perennial, it originates from the Arabian Peninsula, but grows wild in tropical, semi-tropical, and arid weather around the world. It is cultivated for agricultural and medicinal uses. The species is also used for decorative plan and grows successfully indoors as a potted plant.
